Zambia Rising Project
The Zambia Arising Project was launched in 2014 and comes to completion in June, 2018. The Zambia Arising Project was a successful project that set a firm ground in supporting the National Monitoring and Evaluation Plan and to ensure quality service provision for OVCs in the supported districts namely; Central, Copperbelt , Eastern, Lusaka Southern Provinces. The Project provided capacity building and systems strengthening for District Child Protection Committees in the areas of: Leadership, Coordinating and Networking System, Financing, Workforce and Information Research.
UNICEF in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Child Development is currently supporting the following programmes:
- Service Efficiency and Effectiveness for Vulnerable Children& Adolescents (SEEVCA) programme. The aim of the programme is to improve the well-being of vulnerable children, adolescent and their families. The programme will be piloted in 15 districts covering 2 provinces namely Lusaka and Copperbelt.
- UNICEF is providing support towards the implementation of the Advocacy Strategy on Early, Forced and Child Marriages.
