The Minister of Youth, Sport and Child Development, Honourable Emmanuel Mulenga, MP ‘Virtually’ launched the Standard Chartered Bank FUTURE MAKERS ‘YOUTH TO WORK’ Programme which is aimed at empowering the young people to be WORK-READY and Support a total of 30 Small and medium enterprises through training and placing of Youths to help their businesses to grow. The FUTUREMAKERS programme is the Bank’s new community Strategy which lies under three (3) Pillars namely; Education, Employability and Entrepreneurship.
As you may be aware, Zambia has a youthful population of which 37% of this population are aged between 18-35 years and are the most productive age group. Therefore, youth remain a key and important component which needs to be utilized and it is from such programmes that many challenges that they face can be addressed.
The Minister thanked and congratulated Standard Chartered Bank Chief Executive Officer Mr. Herma Kasekende and his team for this worthwhile initiative. It was a clear demonstration of the Bank’s continued commitment to Zambia and empowering our communities.
